Reference information

Commonly cited families (verify edition on your certificate):

  • BS 4483
  • ASTM A497/A185
  • EN 10080
  • GOST 23279

Welded reinforcing mesh is standardized in BS 4483, ASTM A497 / A185, EN 10080 (mesh complements bar rules), and GOST 23279. The grid model here is indicative—lap zones, offcuts, and custom panel sizes need job-specific takeoff.

Weight table

Reference: weight per square meter

Illustrative values for common sizes of Welded mesh at the density you selected. For procurement, always verify against mill certificates.

Wire Ø (mm)Cell (mm)kg/m²

51003.456

Figures follow the same geometric model as the calculator above; rounding and simplifications apply.

Method

How to calculate weight

Core model

m ≈ ρ · A_wire · (total wire length in panel) (weld overlap not subtracted)

Field names

Welded mesh mass uses a simplified two-directional wire grid: total wire length × cross-section × density, without subtracting weld overlaps (slightly conservative). Good for ballpark “mesh weight per m2” and rebar mesh calculator queries.

Reverse length-from-weight is disabled here because the mesh model is not strictly linear in a single edge length at fixed cell count.
